The months from December to March are prime time for pruning most trees and removal of any trees. Deciduous trees are dormant and resting during the colder months so there is significantly less impact when pruning. Grounds are frozen this time of year insuring perennials and other plants are dormant which makes working in these areas easier.
Winter is a great time for tree inspections, without having any leaves on the trees it’s easier to see through the canopy.
